A funny thing happened today. I hired a young man named Jordan to help me with my move the last few weeks and he was sorting my color chips today. At the end of the day, he asked me if I actually paint the walls at client’s homes. I was amused at that immensely.
I immediately laughed and then realized how many folks out there might assume I am the one climbing into a painters smock. Some gals I purchase a lot of furniture from suggested that no one is doing color right now. They thought I just do paint as well.
Color coordination is only one faction of what I do, but I take great pride in this essential step because it sets the tone for all thing to follow. I coordinate the palette of many things in the home.
I make suggestions on the best colors for interior and exterior surroundings. Want extreme detail? I could literally consult you on your toothbrush color to match your bathroom if you want me to. For example of detail, LEDsource.com can do the LED lights for a room based on a designer’s suggestion. What fun, huh?
Jordan’s question isn’t really that far off base as I started my career in faux painting and crept up many a ladder to reach that last rag roll of paint, until I fell 16 feet one day.
So, paint is back in full force but I’m not painting my client’s walls – only my own if I have the time, most likely I’ll hire someone for the tall walls. Hey Jordan, feel like doing some climbing?
I hope all is well in your home today!
