Happy Dos de Mayo! In 3 days a lot of us Californians will pretend to celebrate one of the Mexican Revolutions, but we all know it’s just a reason to drink more Tecate than usual. I have a better idea; enjoy these links instead.
Uniqlock - Waste time watching Japanese girls perform choreography to poppy tunes all while keeping time for their country. At least that what I think it is about. Either way, it’s awesome!
Modern Phoenix - There’s more to Arizona than sweltering heat, scorpions and senior centers. Alison King and her husband have a passion for Midcentury Modern and they want to share it.
LA Modernism - Not to be outdone, Los Angeles has it’s own modern showcase happening this weekend. It’s not cheap, but you’ll be cooler just by attending.
Thorsten Van Elten - Some of the wackiest yet insatiably cool items that you probably don’t need but want to have just because. The War Bowl has heaps of nostalgia for me.
Great Crate - Our dog loves her crate, but I hate keeping the plastic eyesore in public view. These crates are a great alternative.
Street Silence - I’ve been following this photographer on Flickr for awhile now. His work evokes some really strong emotions. Perhaps its the insanely large holes in his earlobes.
21 Beds - Home Interior Zone breaks down some really cool bedroom designs. I wonder how my wife would feel about a solid wood slab above our bed.
Trunk Station - For those that can’t get enough of their cubicles at the office.
Fat Bottom Girls - Sarah Bishop has a wildly diverse style to her work, each series different from the next, but this buxom series grabbed my attention. Not sure why.
Jelly Beans - The stuff you find on Etsy.com can be hit or miss and finding the gems can be time consuming. Lucky for you, I have excellent taste, like these whimsical prints by Canadian artist, Angela Vandebogaard.
That’ll do it for this week. If you do end up partying like a Mexican this weekend, please be safe. Get a designated driver, and only eat meat products you recognize. Vaya con Dios, mi amigos!
