Weekenders - April 25, 2008

This week, I’m choosing to not show any “green” products just because Tuesday was Earth Day. I don’t believe being eco-conscious for one day a year constitutes being green. Most will forget all they heard this week about the environment by the end of the month and go on with their wasteful lives. Instead of hopping on the band wagon, I’m sticking with my normal format, but reminding you that taking care of our environment is not left to holidays, it’s a full time commitment.

Enough ranting. Here’s the links:

Joshua Krause - I used to know a talented guy named Krause. This is not him, but talented none the less.

Chocolate Blues - An entire blog dedicated to brown and blue design. My wife will love this.

Paint by Numbers - 50 rooms in 50 different colors, a great reference thanks to Dominomag.com.

Dutch Gothic - Something missing in your California Ranch or your Pennsylvania Farm Home? Studio Job has the answer.

Poster Power - A series of rock posters that deviate from the normal perception of the craft. Just don’t ask me how to say the designer’s name.

Stealth TV - Plasma TV’s are cool, but they’re still look like TV’s on the wall. Not anymore.

Bring Nature Home - This bed is too awesome not to share. I have no idea how you could incorporate this into a home, but I’m sure Michele could come up with something.

My Passion, My Curse - I love books and magazines. I read and buy way too many. This post on Freshhome only enables my addiction.

Byroglyphics - Insanely cool figurative illustration and prints from British artist, Russ Mills. “Sketchy” never looked so good.

Soft Rock - Furniture doesn’t get anymore zen than this.

Street Portraits - An great collection of black and white photos of folks just like you and me, by photographer Rui Patha.

That’s all she… um… I wrote. Hope you enjoyed your time here. Remember: Recycle your crap!

    Hi there,

I was particularly interested in the “Stealth TV” link! This technology is great!

My family bought one in the UK from another company, I believe they were called Simply Mirror TV (www.simplymirrortv.co.uk).

We now have it in the kitchen and it’s absolutely gorgeous! Now, we can watch television in the kitchen without having a chunky television in the kitchen!

    Best technology ever!

    Regards,

    Nils
