Volcanic Emotional Rescue

Isn’t this the most beautiful shot you’ve ever seen of a Volcano? I think so. I could decorate an entire room around this photo and I’d love to blow up the image as large as I could. This would be my choice to hide a large plasma television. Possibly I should make that suggestion to the photographer.
Blue and Green are the main colors but you could add many accents to the environment. When you are using nature as a backdrop, you can get away with just about anything. Here is what I would do.
1. I’d blow up the image large so it is the focal point of the room.
2. I’d have light wood floors, possibly bamboo to go with the golden tone peeping through this image.
3. My walls would be creamy, very creamy - not yellow but a vanilla ice cream color.
4. The furnishings would be in a golden tone. I might choose a ultra suede for a sofa and a print with a miniture design in the same colors of the photo. To offset the bamboo and golden sofa, I would add an accent rug in a blue green color but with a geometric or simple graphic on it like a tree.
5. For window coverings, I would create roman shades with a golden white. I don’t want to match the walls completely but step up one value to show a contrast, but nothing bright. I want to keep this room peaceful as this beautiful photo.
6. For the final touch, accessories need to be in opposite colors. I would add orange, yellow, deep poppy, and additional blue green accents. Let’s say a vase is a clear large vessel in the blue green but you want to liven it up with the bright poppies or daisies. You could also just use cream flowers for a change but I think you’ll need at least one or two accents in vivid contrast.
That should do it for you!
Have fun with this one. I think you can order a print. Just click on the photo to see all details.
