This morning I’m going to take a few minutes for myself and paint. I’ve been so stressed with the moving that I feel I’m lost in the shuffle. I’m needing a moment of creativity.

This piece is a series I created awhile ago, called “The Baptism”. Most of the pieces are men and women in water. The thought I had at the time was how the symbolism of water, baptizing oneself, becoming clean. We all have times in our life that we feel the need for some spiritual cleansing and you can see by this painting how fearful this man is of jumping in all the way. Hence, the title “Afraid of the Water”.

A Cleansing
I love to swim. It helps me sort out stuff in my head while I’m lapping away. At the end of my session, I float in the water, look at the beautiful sky and have a conversation with the big guy. The water soothes, like going back to the womb.

Painting also soothes me, makes me refreshed. This morning, I just have a bit of time but I’ll work on some unfinished pieces. See ya in a bit!
