I must really be into the human form and art this week (don’t read too much into that). I ran across this shot of sculptor Richard MacDonald. I have to say he is my favorite contemporary sculptors. He is perfection to me in terms of detail and beauty. I only wish my art forms could be so compelling. One day, they will be.
What always blows me away is the patience that is needed to transform a piece of clay let alone a bronze into something so intricate. After being in Florence and seeing Michelangelo’s David, I was transformed. Nothing has ever put me in awe quite like that massive Adonis.
