These days there is so much more to offer in outdoor furnishings and it’s very exciting. The variety is great, but can be very pricey, so you rarely see the awesome stuff at your neighbor’s garden party.
There is an inherent benefit to paying top dollar. The materials and textiles will stand the test of time unless you live under severe weather conditions where you need to put things into storage for the winter. Here I’ve chosen a few styles that I feel are beautiful, contemporary, and downright innovative. Each one is different but offers complete comfort.
Brown Jordan is probably has the biggest name out in patio design. Their designs have won over 17 awards including a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Furniture Manufacturing Association. They have many styles ranging from country to contemporary, tropical/plantation style to Tuscany. My daughter in law has expressed a unique interest in this lounge with it’s tropical appeal yet functional design that includes storage for pillows and maybe poolside linens. There yard has a tropical feel to it, so this would go nicely.
A modern competitor to the daybed here with the pristine white Gloster Eclipse Chaise which consists of a relaxer, footstool, protective canvas sail and side table with a non-scratch ceramic surface. Combine the relaxer and the footstool for a cozy daybed-sized lounger and add the sail for sun protection or privacy. Or push two relaxers together to make the ultimate sunbathing cocoon, about as big as a full-size bed and perfect for the whole family. Despite their obvious scale both the Relaxer and Footstool are light and easy to move around thanks to the addition of smooth-running castors which lock into position as soon as weight is applied. Again, a pricey alternative but very cool and functional to boot.
This first bed shown is by finelineimports.com is perfect for looking at the stars. Check out the large wheels which is easy for moving around so you won’t miss the big dipper.
Not all patio furnishings have to be expensive though. I’ve found better buys on-line like Alegro Classics, but I can’t attest to the quality of their products. My suggestion would be to see who might carry the line to see it in person before purchasing. Aside from being unsure about quality, Alegro isn’t a bad choice for the pocketbook.
