Stressed Out! Counting the days.

18 days left to finish art for our show!  Yikes!!!  I’m stressing just a wee bit, waking up every night and thinking about all I have to do.  Can anyone relate?  I’m sure half the world is going through the toughest of times.  Many people are suffering from this recession but it also makes us take a look at what is important and how we can best use our God given talents.

This slow period of my interior design business has surely put me to the test.  My existing clientel has put a lot of stops to spending and the phone isn’t ringing like it used to.  You can blog and advertise but if people are holding tight, we must adapt.  Luckily for me, I have some other talents and I’m being forced to think of ways to use them.  I figure this is the time for me to create that lifestyle of painting and singing.  I’ve dabbled with my art for far too long.  I’ve received a gift of time to do just what I’ve always wanted.

This is it, I figure.  I’m being led by default. I’ve received a gift of time to do just what I’ve always wanted. This is just the next step for me.  I’m not sure most people feel getting laid off is a positive.  Closed door, new door opens is my motto.  Or, we create a new way to open that next door so it stays open.

I’m taking my son along on this trip as well.  It’s a jump start for him.  I find it fascinating that I created a date for this event and we’re just doing it.  For me, this experience of taking this time to jump on the bandwagon is stressful and exhilirating at the same time.  But, it’s also taking my mind off the so-called recession.  I’m actually in much better spirits.

Maybe that is the key.  We must find something to replace what is missing.  If you’ve been missing out on time for yourself, stop yourself for the moment, regroup and consider what you truly want.  Or, diversify.

I’ve created this diversion and a reason for it.  The date, the exhibit. From here on out, I can continue to add to  the collection after this event in a slower pace and still carry out my daily routine with my color consultation.  No worries, I can handle both and would rather have alternatives.  Breaks up the day, so to speak. This is a perfect lifestyle for me.  The main thing is that I’m now on the mission for creating art for myself and for others.  Color is an art and if you need my help in that direction, you can call me anytime.
