After watching The Big Idea with Danny Duestch, what I picked up from these self made millionaires is to be a success, you need to have passion; find something you love, pursue it with vigor and never give up. So true, but why is it that most individuals never make it past the passion? Why do we settle for jobs that just making ends meet instead of going for that millionaire label?

Ambitious, tenacious, passionate, desperate, anxious, relentless, addicted, and on and on we can go about it all. I truly feel this time in my life is the real thing; real passion for my art and my music. There is never a “perfect time”, but I’m certain that now IS the time. In the second half of my life, I find it passing by quickly. But the changes I’m making at this moment, in my business and my personal life, are exactly the right thing at the right time.

So it’s no secret that I’m passionate about my work. I see the beauty in color combinations. I see every vein in a piece of marble, every touch of sunshine on the tree leaves, brilliance in the morning sunrise and rings of color in water. I’m passionate about making sure all aspects of my color designs work and flow together in each clients’s home.

Color isn’t supposed to be perfect by itself, but rather play off each other. The most common trap that young designers fall in to is dripping the same color values all together and end with what I call “monochromatically boring”.

Perhaps I’m being a bit of a color snob, but I feel I have been given a talent with my ability to envision a design come together from start to finish. It’s compelling and beautiful to put the entire spectrum of the rainbow together into a room with the touches of gray behind the vibrant tones.

So, yes, I’m passionate about a few things and color is a big one. Now I just need to work on the tenacious ambition to get me into that millionaire category.
