This week I met with two Master Mind groups. The first group my sister, Kathleen Reece initiated. She is a life coach working from Hawaii. We actually had our first call this past week and are scheduled to talk every Thursday. The second group is not a group but a personal friend, Dean Gerrie. We vowed to keep each other on track every three to four weeks. Only, it’s more like he’s keeping me on track because he’s so far ahead of me that I would have to stay up 24/7 for the next two years to keep up. My son, Dave Conrey also keeps an eye on my direction. His blog, The Greeniest is one to keep your eye on.
Most of you might know what a Master Mind group is all about but those of you that don’t, it’s a support group. They helps you create plans and keep you accountable for your most important life goals and challenges. For the slowing economic times, may I suggest to all of you out there to join one. It certainly can’t hurt. What have you got to lose?
And, that’s just exactly what I said, ”What have I got to lose?” The more people I can mix emotions, synergy, create peer pressure or just talk to, the better. We all have friends and they can be great cheerleaders but you walk away with a feel-good attitude that last for about ten minutes. Then you are home alone and the insecurity bugs come crawling out of the walls. That’s when we get stumped. The master mind group holds you accountable for your truth, your passion and your goals.
Aside from reading success books and incentives, this is the best thing that I could have done for myself in a long time because it makes me work. Dean told me about a story of a famous writer in Orange County suggested his success came from writing every day. Makes sense to me! Then, he suggested “What if you painted every day?” That’s when the AHA MOMENT hit me. Duh!!!! So, why is it so easy to fall back and slack off. Again, I just think it’s human nature that we must overcome. Knowing myself, I need these groups more than ever. I’m not getting any younger, the news hurts to listen to and it’s just damn time to do it. What have I been waiting for? I’ve always wanted this anyway.
The other day I was sorting family photos. What a job! I ran across a copy of a drawing I did for my father. It was a graphite drawing but it was a remarkable likeness of my father and three other gentleman that were standing with him. I looked at photos of these men and then the drawing. Amazing! The sad truth here is that I did that about 25 years ago. This is where my stomach really turns. If I only knew how good that piece was back then, I never would have put the pencil down. Just imagine where I’d be today?
I have always been a very positive person but I think age has kicked in a bit. Writing goals is key but reading them aloud with belief is the real key. So, this is pretty much my end of discussion. If you think you can’t you won’t. If you never give up until you succeed, you’ll be a happy camper. But….. if you have those self doubts or need someone in the background to nudge you along until you think you can….. you most likely will.
If you find this blog to be an inspiration, go ahead and subscribe so we can bring the inspiration to you. If you’d like to join our master mind group, give my sis a call.

Amanda,
Thanks for your comment. How did you find my site? I was impressed with your site as well. Great job on the virtual thing. I’ve not attempted that but have been brainstorming on how that would look. I think it’s complicated but you’ve done a great job of defining the styles.Happy Holidays to you as well.
Michele
Your site was mentioned in one of my google alerts. I’ve got google alerts set up for key search terms like “interior designer orange county”, “online interior design” etc. to pro-actively notify me of whats happening on the web and in the Industry relative to my firm and our efforts.
Thank-you for your kind comments. Would you consider letting us HMD certify your firm and provide you with free promotion at http://www.HMDhome.com? Maybe the experience would help you fine tune your processes for your firms virtual design services in the future?
Hello again, Amanda,
