It never ceases to amaze me how many talented artists and designers there are in this world. Everyday I find new work that blows my mind and the thriving industry of new wall art is no exception. Check out this cool idea from Ferm Living. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but its a unique alternative to bare walls.So often in new homes around this area, the walls are kept the prototypical, off-white with the orange peel texture. What ever happened to lathe and plaster. It is so much prettier and you can do so much with it especially when it comes to faux treatments.
You take a lathe and plaster wall, seal it, paint it, and then sand and wax and sand and wax and sand and waxed. It polishes like a venetian plaster but it is solid and smooth. A few coats of varnish on top and WOW! Yes, it’s a bit time intensive, but the end result is fabulous.
