In the last two weeks I’ve created more computer renderings than I have in the last two years. I have to admit it that even I am amazed how well the image looks once I’ve completed the work. It is hard for most people to visualize the final look. For this I am thankful or I wouldn’t have this job. For me, it’s very easy to see it in my head. Again, for that I am grateful.
Today, I worked on a terrific apartment builidng. It was built in the 60’s. I knew right away that this was going to be a fun one for me. I wanted to take it back to that time and create a modern approach to the colors. The client agreed that this would be the best thing and easily took my lead. How good is this? I have an easy going client as well. Most would have just freaked out about the black but I guess she got in to my head although she was struggling with the concept at first.
I chose some sophisticated muted grays with a green cast. The under roof ceiling, I want to add just a hint of a blue gray to imitate the cool beach water that is about 200 yards away. I’m adding the dark gray black to accent the architectural lines and stairwell. The deck will be coated with a product called DEX-0-TEX surface, in the Bright Gray #431. The garage doors will now carry the weight of the building. As you can see from the before shot, it looked very top heavy. There is a nice balance now.
Well, that’s it for today. I’m off to sleep. I feel comfortable that the client will appreciate the resolution.
