What do you want to feel in your bedroom? Yeah, see how you are?

Actually, I’m talking about having the sanctuary that helps create increased energy, passion and better sleep. You can’t really understand it until you have created the perfect environment that makes you say, “Ahhhh!” If you’ve read anything about feng sui then you understand some of what I’m talking about. A great resource is SriKumar.com. The best approach is to ask yourself what is the perfect setting for a bedroom besides what you might see in a design magazine. Think about what fits your personality and then design your room around your desires and tastes.

I’d like to hear from folks out there is there idea of the perfect bedroom. Some have just a studio apartment, some have lavish square footage with a lanai attached and others have the average size and shape, but what is it that makes a bedroom a haven for each individual? For me, I feel that the textiles in the room are at the top of my list. I need comfort, so I wouldn’t want anything that isn’t soft next to my body.

For those textures I was talking about , I would love nothing more than to snuggle up with these Italian linens (please excuse the cheesy music).

Another aspect to look at is your mattress. Personally, I have the Sleep Number Bed by Select Comfort and I’m very happy with it. My dear, sweet husband is a mover and shaker so having the controls on different sides has helped my sleep patterns tremendously. These can be a bit pricey, but in my opinion, well worth the price. However, there are lots of other options out there, so next time you’re in the market for a new mattress, do a lot of shopping around. Cost is always a factor, but for something you’ll spend at least 1/3rd of your life on, don’t you think it’s worth the investment? Yes, I would have to say the mattress is the most important when it comes to your comfort.

Furniture in the bedroom there for the aesthetics like some of the platform beds out there. I would be afraid to get out of bed as I might hit my shins getting back in. However, the set up I’m showing from Modern Studio Furnishings is my favorite! This to me is the ultimate in coolness. I would have to ask the store to let me sleep on it overnight to assure that I wouldn’t kill myself. That would be an expensive restocking fee.

I love a high bed myself; keep the boogie man off me. I remember when I was a kid, I used to run and leap across the room into my bed after turning out the lights.I was afraid the boogie man was going to grab my ankles. Perhaps this platform would be too tight for him to crawl under, but I’m not taking my chances.

To finish off the room there are many items. The next on my list are:

There are some extra “I want” items that would make my life luxurious. A spa complete with shower, jacuzzi, steam room and a dressing table area so organized with all the needs of a woman. A comfortable storage ottoman to sit on would be great. I’d store my curling iron and blow dryer in the seat. That works for me.

I’d love your feedback on what would be a perfect room.
