This is a quick update, but we got a big jump in traffic today thanks to the efforts of Darren Rowse on Problogger.net. For his sites 3rd birthday, he’s giving away all kinds of goodies offered up by various people. We tossed our hat in the ring and offered to give a free color consultation to any winners. It’s outside of the normal problogger parameters, but we like to shake things up again.

If you’re here visiting from Problogger, thanks for stopping by. Hope you stick around awhile.

What exactly does a color consultation consist of?

Great question Emma. Michele would be the best to answer this question, but since she’s on holiday in Hawaii, I’ll do my best to explain.

Color consultation, for interiors, is where the designer studies a room, takes measurements, asks you all your likes and dislikes and then takes all that information to come up with a color palette for the room, but it’s more than just paint. Along with the wall color ideas, Michele gives suggestions on furniture style and upholstery patterns, flooring ideas, draperies and even proper lighting. It all comes down to how much or little you want her to work on.

Michele is a whiz at color and design theory and comes up with some crazy cool answers to design problems. Check out her company site, http://www.rightcolor.net. There’s another blog there and some samples of her work.

Cheers.

Thanks so much for taking the time to elaborate on this, Dave! I linked to the comments section of that post in your comment on ProBlogger, I hope you don’t mind!

No problem, Lara. We want to make sure the prize is something people will look forward to.
