Time for Work

I’m back to work finally.  I settled in to two different locations. Yes, that’s right, two not one.  We sold our large home in Mission Viejo and have moved in to the greatest beach spot in San Clemente and also to our home in the Palm Desert area.

I’ve got the best of both worlds you might say.  Today, I walked to the beach.  Tomorrow, I will swim in my desert oasis.  People might think I’m nuts but I like the transitions week by week.

I dedicate three days in Orange County and the  same for the Coachella Valley each week to consult with my clients on color and design theory.  The time management is working out real nice.  I also found a few of my clients have homes in both locations.  The change in scenery is a change in spirit for me as well.  I never get bored working this way.  At least I’m not hopping on a plane to rush off to a corporate meeting.  I’m able to switch my schedule around to fit each client and to fit my own lifestyle.

If you have a job that you hate, take a moment to make an attitude adjustment.  Not everyone can take off from work but you could find a few moments to readjust your mind from the every day grind.

This is what I suggest for opening up any blocks on the brain:

Exercise always relieves stress.  Take a walk outside of your building if you have to go back to work.  Or, wait until closing, always pack  your tennies and head off to a spiritual area like the beach or mountains.  Here’s a great tip I found on from Sparkplugging this week about a ten minute cardio break at your office.    It worked for me today as a matter of fact.  I’m not tired like I usually am this time of night. In fact, late afternoon I took another walk after my daily routine workout.  Must be something to it!

Triple your pleasure Triple your fun.

Here is a new tripich I placed on Etsy.com today.  I’m working on all types of art and abstracts are foreign to me but I’m finding a lot of freedom in just wacking away at the brush.

For anyone who wants to get their frustrations out, this is one way you could reduce stress.  It’s different for artists, we love to paint on just about anything.  For someone trying to paint or sketch for the first time, it might be overwhelming and cause you stress to put the pen in to action on a white sheet of paper.

My motto is ” Let it Rip”.  I also have a friend who teaches folks how to do just that.  He started a school called Scribbles Institute.  So, if you feel shy about drawing a straight line, log in and sign up for a class instruction that could make your day!

Bad Blogger Girl!

My view at IPCC

Honestly, I’ve been in the middle of a huge move to two different locations and I’ve not blogged for numerous days. It might be well over a month?  You might say, I’ve had some heavier priorities.

I’m settled to the point we’ve put the last box down in one of our homes but we still have a small apartment that we need to move in to next week.  Not bad, one home in the desert and one by the beach!  The photo above is our view at the desert home.  What a life, huh?  I’d settle for just one home right now.

One thing that is for sure and that is I will un-clutter my home and my life to the point that if I ever, and I mean ever have to move again —- it will all be a smoother delivery.  I’m trying to find one little box of my art supplies and I’m missing the most important one, of course.  I just can’t imagine it’s lost for good but under some other box.  I labeled everything on all sides but I might have missed one.

Do you really care about all this baloney I’m writing?  I doubt it, so I’ll sign off and come back swingin’ with something more creative in the next week.
